Problem Scenario

The reason i am doing this project is to have people be able to plant plants and not have to overflow it and have water everywhere.

Whats the best medium for Rye seeds to sprout?

Whats the perfect amount of water for Rye seeds to sprout?

My hypothesis is that the more water i put in my cups the less it will grow?

Background Research

there are many ways to test the growth of rye seeds some of which are how tall they are, how much water you use or how much soil there are so many waya that its hard too explain all of them. one thing i learned from my experiment is that you should always be very precise on what your doing or you might mess up. while searching for better ways to do my project i found that is you use lower water than your supposed to it makes the plant grow better and it also makes less of a mess cause if u over flow it it might be a cleaning day.

Rye grass grows well and fast from seed. It is not as aggressive as some other types of turf because it spreads by growing larger clumps, rather than sending out rhizomes or stolons. Therefore, the seeding rate is higher than for some other grasses. If you plant a rye seed from its seed, you will need to sow about 8-10 pounds of seed per 1,000 square feet, which is on the high end.

Some other cool facts i found were, that if you want the best results from your project you have to water at least twice a day until they are fully grown and then when they are fully grown you still have to at least water them once a day.while doing my project i found that if you use a small cup and you water them once a day while not fully grown they sprout fine.

some other stuff that you should know about rye seed growth is that it is very difficult to how many seeds to grow at once that was them most difficult thing for me until i did 12 different test tries with different amounts of water and soil ect.in my conclusion the my best way to grow the plants was to give it 15ml of water.

Detailed Procedure

1. Take a rye seed and place it in a cup with soft soil.
2. Next water the plant once a day with 10ml of water to maintain the soil
3. After about two weeks the plants should be at least 8cm tall and still have a soft soil
4. And if you really want to be accurate you should keep them under light all the time even just in the night

Data Analysis

My graph states that the cup with medium amount of water grew the most.

Conclusion

In the end the the final best medium for plant growth would be 10ml for my project but after awhile the plant will start to decrease in size. In the end my hypothesis was right.

Discussion

in the end result the best way to grow plants is to have less water and put a odd number of seeds in the pot of soil. and if this was recommended for farmers the best way to grow with a ton of seeds is to water and reformist it once a day.

The benefits are that you will be able to grow rye seeds with perfect amount of water.
